Description:

Creamware Ale Mug, England, dated 1777, probably Yorkshire, cylindrical shape underglaze blue decorated with an oriental landscape with pagoda to one side, another with a western-style man standing and gesturing towards a verse "It is an honour for a man to cease from strife but Every fool will be meddleing 1777," ht. 4 in.
