Thirty-two Pieces of Lester H. Vaughan Pewter Tableware, Lester H. Vaughan, Taunton, Massachusetts, c. 1915-40, ht. to 8 1/2 in.

Note: Lester H. Vaughan (1889-1961) began working in pewter with Reed & Barton in 1909. In 1915 he started his own full-time pewter business. Soon the quality of his work was recognized and he was awarded the medal of the Boston Society of Arts & Crafts as well as the Art Institute of Chicago's Arthur Heun Prize. Vaughan's work was exhibited at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Cleveland Art Museum and he made four coffee sets for the White House during the Franklin Delano Roosevelt administration.
