Edward Hill (American, 1843-1923)

Evening in the Canyon, Platte River. Signed and dated "Edward Hill. 1908" l.r., inscribed "Evening in the Canon [sic], Platte River/50 miles from/Denver, Colo" in pencil on the reverse. Oil on artist board, 12 1/4 x 9 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Losses with craquelure and flaking to l.l. corner, surface grime.

Area of loss and craquelure measures approximately 1-1/2 x 2-1/4 in. and is located in the l.l. corner. Damage to the lower edge of the frame liner, with some small pieces of the liner included in a plastic sandwich bag affixed to the frame.
