By the spring of 2012, the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States; the Scotch Whisky Association, then celebrating its 100th anniversary; and George Washington's Mount Vernon united to make this idea a reality. The result is a one of a kind, single malt that celebrates the Scottish heritage of the American distilling industry...the Mount Vernon team worked closely with master distillers from Cardhu Single Malt Distillery, The Glenmorangie Co., and Laphroaig Distillery...10 gallons, bottled as a Limited Edition, was distilled twice resulting in some of the highest proofs ever achieved in the reconstructed distillery. Aged at Mount Vernon for more than 2 years in used Bourbon casks re-coopered in Speyside...this unique single malt spent its final months in Madeira wine barrels, a favorite at Washington's table.", bottle signed by Master Distillers: Bill Lumsden (The Glenmorangie Co.),Andy Cant (Cardhu),John Campbell (Laphroaig),Dave Pickerell (Oak View Consulting),40%
