Portsmouth, Virginia Yellow Fever Award Medal, c. 1856, designed by Francis N. Mitchell and struck in copper, the obverse with a view of the Portsmouth Naval Hospital, the reverse with presentation legend, laurel and open center field, (mahogany brown toning), dia. 63.7 mm.
