Miniature Portrait, Reportedly of Captain David Porter, United States Navy, America, early 19th century, the curly-haired subject seen with a black ascot and blue waistcoat, 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 in., mounted in a red leather case with hook enclosures.

Note: Captain David Porter commanded the American 32-gun ship Essex during the War of 1812.
