Double-sided drawing, graphite on paper, sight size 11 x 10 in. (27.9 x 25.4 cm),in a double-sided frame.
Condition: Mat burn to right and left edges, toning.
Estimate $400-600
Condition: Pale water stain or similar to lower left corner of the recto in a triangular area measuring about 3 1/2 inches along the bottom edge and 4 1/2 inches up the left edge. Toning to central area of the recto image, which creates two somewhat lighter color bands along the left and right sides that are 1/2 and 3/4 inch wide respectively. The paper is mottled in color, and it is not clear if this is original to the paper or the result of aging. Subtle rippling including along the edges of the paper at the window. Scattered minor accretions.
Because of the construction of the double-sided frame, the frame was not opened during cataloging. The recto is oriented vertically, and the verso is oriented horizontally.
Frame dimensions: 17 1/2 x 16 in.
