Important Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings highlight the May 13th Fine Paintings & Sculpture auction, including Raoul Dufy’s Régates à Trouville, Louis Valtat’s Fleurs Variées, an oil fragment/study of water by Claude Monet, and watercolors by Maurice de Vlaminck, Lyonel Feininger, and Raoul Dufy. The sale also covers a broad range of styles and regions, from wonderful 17th and 18th Century Dutch works, 19th century American landscapes including F.A. Silva and a major oil landscape by Edmund Darch Lewis, early 20th works by Alfred Maurer, John Sloan, and Ernest Lawson, and Modern and Contemporary works by Mordecai Ardon, Reuven Rubin, Jamini Roy, Robert Longo, and Edvins Strautmanis, with sculptures by William Zorach and Harry Bertoia. There is also a group of dance-related pieces by Natalia Goncharova, Eugene Berman, Léon Bakst, and Pavel Tchelitchew.
