Léonard Tsuguhara Foujita (Japanese/French, 1886-1968)

Les deux amies, 1927 (Buisson, 27.26). Signed "Foujita" and with characters in pencil l.r., numbered "19/100" in pencil l.l. Etching with aquatint and hand-coloring on chine collé, plate size 16 1/4 x 22 1/2 in. (41.1 x 57.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Toning, unobtrusive staining and/or fox marks, coloring possibly faded, rippling, not examined out of frame.
Estimate $700-900

The sheet is affixed to the backing at the edges, but does not appear to be fully laid down. The rippling is likely from the adhesive. Sheet measures 21 1/8 x 27 7/8 in. (53.7 x 70.8 cm).
