Pair of Famille Rose Covered Jars, China, 18th/19th century, ovoid, depicting boys carrying banners and canopies and riding a qilin, two bats on the reverse, with carved hardwood covers inlaid with pale celadon jade carvings on carved wood stands, jar ht. 8 1/4 in.

Provenance: Descended through the family of Ames Nowell of Massachusetts.
