Canaanite Copper Figure of a Deity, Syria-Levant, c. 2nd millennium BC, the figure standing leaning slightly back, with one leg in front of the other, wearing a wide-hemmed garment gathered at the waist and a conical crown, the face with deep eye sockets and a large nose, with tangs on the bottom of each foot, ht. 7 in.
Provenance: Purchased by a Canadian Major prior to the 1960s.
