Canaanite Copper Figure of a Deity, Syria-Levant, c. 2nd millennium BC, the figure with arms bent and extended, the hands with holes for holding implements or attributes, with a long beard, deep eye sockets and large nose, wearing a garment gathered at the waist and a cylindrical crown or headdress, with a tenon below the feet, ht. 5 3/4 in.
Provenance: Purchased by a Canadian Major prior to the 1960s.
