Description:

Mahogany Tall Case Clock, Aaron Willard, Boston, c. 1810-15, with Roxbury-style case, brass-mounted hood and waist columns with brass stop-fluting, the floral-painted iron dial showing the age of the moon, seconds, and calendar indicators, lettered "Aaron Willard," with eight-day, brass, weight-driven movement, refinished, (restoration),ht. with finials 92 in.

Provenance: A note affixed to the waist door reads: "and may it descend to my children, children's children." It descended in the family of Stephen Smith, who died in 1799.
