Unsigned, titled on a handwritten label affixed to the back of the frame.
Oil on canvas, 37 x 32 1/2 in. (94.0 x 82.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, patch reinforcement, repaired tear l.l., retouch, paint loss, craquelure, surface grime.
Provenance: Purchased by the current owner from Maitland Art Gallery in Liverpool in the 1960s, reported to be from the estate of the Greek ambassador to England.
With a partial label from Furlongs' Depository, Woolrich, on the back of the frame.
Retouch consisting in part of multiple dots and dashes to the Flora's face and to the cherub in the u.r. corner, as well as to the extended arm of Flora and to her chest. Repaired vertical tear with retouch at lower left edge, measuring about 4 inches.
Frame dimensions are 41 x 35 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches.
