Eight Assorted Hair Ornaments, Japan, 19th/20th century, comprising three kogai hairpins: one of silver sprinkled with gilt ends, one of gold sprinkled black lacquer with flower and butterfly design, and one of brown burnished wood with persimmon branches; a red lacquered prong kanzashi, decorated with floral grasses; a single-prong kanzashi hairpin of red-lacquered wood, decorated with peonies in hiramaki-e on a circular plate; and three of resin: one decorated with a flattened circular plate with carved flowers, one with iridescent globe and gilt lines, and one with a blue globe, all hairpins with an ear-pick spoon head, lg. to 7 1/4 in.
