Made for Celia Goodman, SEG decorator, Boston, Massachusetts, 1920-29
Four bowls and plates each decorated with a medallion of a house in a tree-decorated landscape, two-tone blue surround, a C.E.D. bowl, two Albina Mangini bowls, Fannie Levine bowl, three Fannie Levine plates, and a G.H. plate, ht. 1 3/8 to 1 1/2, dia. 5 to 6 1/4 in.
Provenance: Celia Goodman's wedding dishes, descended in the family.
Note: It was the custom that the girls decorated for each other as a wedding gift. SEG decorator Sarah Galner's wedding service is part of the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts.
