Sacrifice of Isaac. Signed in Cyrillic l.r. and inscribed in Cyrillic u.r. Oil on canvas, 17 1/4 x 12 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Surface grime, minor losses.
N.B. Rembrandt's 1635 painting, inspired by the Old Testament story found in Genesis 22 of the bible, was acquired in 1779 by Catherine the Great and currently hangs in the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.
