Thirty-four-star Silk Flag from the USS Hartford, c. 1861-63, red and white hand-sewn silk stripes, blue canton with gold painted stars, canvas hoist with brass grommets, marked Thomas Shaw on both sides of the hoist, ht. 43, lg. 68 in.

Some color fading, some loss on the fly and lower portion of the flag, and the remaining silk is very delicate.
