Unsigned, Gentleman with a label from Roberson & Miller, London, on the reverse.
Oil on canvas, 9 3/4 x 7 5/8 in. (24.7 x 19.3 cm),in matching period frames.
Condition: Minor surface grime, woman has abrasions.
N.B. The portraits depict a seated gentleman in profile wearing a red jacket and cape with fur collar, with his arm resting on a book, and a lady in profile wearing a classical garment and gold crown. Roberson & Miller artist suppliers were in business from 1828 to 1839. (1)
