Condition: Lined.

Provenance: Benjamin H. Gaylord, Bar Harbor, Maine (according to a label affixed to the stretcher)

N.B. According to an obituary published on October 22, 2000 in the Cape Cod Times, Benjamin H. Gaylord, was a Navy veteran and president of a New York management firm. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Gaylord was a graduate of Milton Academy and Harvard University. In 1969, he moved to Bar Harbor, Maine, where he worked with a management consulting firm. In 1994, he moved to Yarmouthport. A former trustee of Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, Gaylord was also a former trustee and CEO of the Leukemia Society of America and former trustee of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston. He was a member of the S.A.R., Mayflower Society, Founders and Patriots in Boston, and the Harvard Club of Boston.
