Pair of Kesi Rank Badges, China, 19th century, depicting an egret in flight signifying the sixth civil rank, a red sun in the upper left, surrounded by stylized clouds and the "Eight Buddhist Treasures," above a lishui border, 11 1/2 x 12 in.

Provenance: From the collection of a New England family who lived in China from 1899 to the 1960s.
