Three KushiCombs and a Kanzashi Hairpin, Japan, 19th/20th century, three faux tortoiseshell combs: one decorated with grapevine scrolls in hiramaki-e and gilt lines, paper thin, polished, wd. 5 1/8, one with an inlaid floral design between two openwork landscapes on the domed shaft, gilt sides, wd. 3 1/4, and one plain with gilt sides, signed "Kozuki," wd. 3; and a yellow composite amber hairpin, curved horseshoe shape, the top inlaid with fine square shell fragments (mostly missing) on a lacquered gray ground, signed, ht. 4 in.
