Condition: Minor surface grime.
N.B. The painting was created for an illustration in a 1954 issue of True: The Man's Magazine. The consignor reports that this work is an illustration of very early Mormon history, depicting James Jesse Strang, a Mormon priest, being arrested for trying to set up a separate state on an island in Lake Michigan.
