This painting was sold from a Southern estate by Skinner in March of 1996 (sale 1703 lot 225). At that time it was described as "signed and dated 'N.A. Brooks N.Y. '88' l.l. " and the condition read "Good, minute losses." The losses have been filed and retouched, but there is no longer any evidence of a signature.
The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Condition requests can be obtained via email (lot inquiry button) or by telephone to the appropriate gallery location (Boston/617.350.5400 or Marlborough/508.970.3000).
