Russian .875 Silver-gilt and Champlevé-enamel Tea Glass Holder (Podstakannik)and Spoon, St. Petersburg, late 19th century, maker's mark in Cyrillic "G.A," assay mark rubbed, spoon lacking assay mark, circular cup with a crenulated rim, small monogrammed cartouche, and acanthus-capped loop handle joined to the body with a female terminal, raised on three stylized peacock supports, their feathered plumes formed by polychrome-enameled panels to the cup, ht. 5 3/4, the .916 silver-gilt spoon with a terminal cast and chased as a female bust on a paneled support with enamel accents and a spiraled stem, the bowl with an enamel peacock, lg. 7 1/4 in., approx. 19.5 troy oz. total.
Estimate $1,500-2,500

Spoon and tea glass holder each with minor rubbing to gold-washed surface, scattered nicked losses and pitting to enamel, and minor abrasions to silver surface. Enamel may have been added later. One leg of holder bent in slightly (cup still sits well, slightly crooked). No apparent over-painting or restoration to enamel.
