Curved, tapered body decorated with overlapping mother-of-pearl crescents, the bases and covers in black lacquer with cast metal faux bamboo knobs, stickers, Maitland-Smith made in Vietnam, one with painted mark 199, ht. 13 1/4, wd. 9 1/2, and ht. 9 1/2, wd. 10 1/2 in.

Shorter: small chip to interior rim. Taller: Several vertical cracks in the foundation visible in the interior, one crack in exterior of the rim, areas of abrasion to the top of the cover.
