Indistinct signature along lower edge.
Watercolor on artist board, 8 1/4 x 5 3/4 in., in a rosewood veneer frame with gilt liner,
the boy dressed in blue checked gown holding riding crop with farm buildings in the background, a partial embossed stamp at the lower l.l. of the page and indistinct inscription along the lower edge, inscribed in pencil on the reverse "Portrait of John Hannam/Aged 2 Years 3 Months/ Jany. 13, 1844."
Condition: Water stain at u.r. corner, toning along edges, very light foxing on the page, the left and bottom pieces of the liner missing.
