Two Stoneware Jars and Two Stoneware Jugs, America, 19th century, including a one and one half-gallon cylindrical jar with flat band rim, tooled shoulder decorated with a cobalt floral spay marked "1 1/2"; a two-gallon cylindrical jar with rolled rim and cover, tooled shoulder and applied lug handles marked "CONNOLLY & PALMER/NEW BRUNSWICK/N.J." above cobalt "2" and a floral spray; a two-gallon jug with wide band collar, applied strap handle stencil decorated with a starburst, marked "2/F.H. COWDEN/HARRISBURG"; and a two-gallon jug with wide band collar, applied strap handle and impressed and cobalt highlighted "2" over a swan, (imperfections),ht. to 14 in.

1 1/2 gallon jar has few small chips in the rim and a three inch crack extending from the rim into the body; two gallon jar has two small chips in the rim, one small chip on the handle of the lid, and light soiling; two gallon Cowden jug has a chip on the mouth and a light abrasion on the side; the two gallon swan decorated jug has a small chip on the mouth and a small chip in the right side of the body.
