Jefferson, Thomas (1743-1826) and James Madison (1751-1836) Signed Ship's Passport, 10 November 1802.
Parchment document, engraved with a vignette of a lighthouse and ships in the top portion, engraved text below, fulfilled by hand, sealed, with old folds and a few stains, ink slightly faded, Jefferson signs as President, Madison as Secretary of State, with the typical wavy cut at the top of the document, 18 x 11 3/4 in.
