The first edition of this series of erotic tales was printed in Latin in 1660 under the title, Aloisiae Sigaeae, Toletanae, Satyra Sotadica de Arcanis Amoris et Veneris. It is considered the first work in Latin ever composed with its subject fully dedicated to the erotic.
