The Ship "Dreadnaught" Under Full Sail in Open Water
Signed or inscribed "JACOBSEN." l.r., vessel identified on its flag.
Oil on canvas, 20 1/4 x 36 in. (51.4 x 91.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure.

N.B. The lot is accompanied by a copy of an invoice from Swain's Art Store, Plainfield, New Jersey, dated March 1, 1982.
Estimate $8,000-12,000

The lining is adhere with wax and may have a solid support sandwiched between the two canvases. The craquelure is very visible but stable. Extensive retouch to the sky and sails.
