The lining is an old glue lining. There are at least two campaigns of retouch both scattered dashes and strokes; much of this is to the curtain. There is bloom and mold growth to the surface, and the varnish is farely opaque. There are a number of surface abrasions with corresponding paint loss, primarily to the bottom third of the composition. There are also several punctures, the largest of which is about the size of a silver dollar in the center left within the curtain.
