Watercolor on paper, 10 x 13 7/8 in., framed.
Condition: Glue residue along left side edge, loss or trimmed at l.l. corner, subtle rippling, glue residue and brown paper tape on three sides of the reverse.

Provenance: Gifted to and descended in the family of the consignor.

N.B. This work was made by Mr. Bertoia when he attended Cranbrook Academy of Art, 1937-1943, by all accounts a pivotal point in his career.

Framed dimensions are 14 1/2 x 18 1/2 in.

There is a note about the provenance for this work handwritten on the frame backing.

The glue residue along the left edge of the front is about 1/4 inch wide and runs the length of that side. The small trimmed area or loss at the l.l. corner measures1/2 inch diagonally across the corner. The work is hinged to the window mat with masking tape along the top edge, applied on top of the brown paper tape already along that edge.
