Provenance: Purchased by the family while living in Mexico in the 1940s.
Note: Van Buren (American, b. 1911) trained at the Bauhaus in Germany in the early 1930s. He moved to Mexico in 1937 and became a major contributor to the Mexican Modernism movement.
