Midshipman's Dirk and Scabbard, c. early 19th century, gilt-brass backstrap with a lion head at the pommel, gilt-brass counter-guard, bone grip, curved steel blade engraved with a panoply of arms and foliate designs, and a gilt-brass scabbard engraved with foliate designs, blade lg. 9, overall lg. 14 in.
Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum.

Some light cracks in the grip, some light patina on the blade, and a few light dings on the scabbard.
