Sword, Images, and Letters of Captain David D. Bard and Rodolphus Bard, c. mid to late 19th century, Model 1850 foot officer's sword carried by Captain Bard, images of Bard in uniform, family correspondence between the Bard family, daguerreotype of family members, and letters from Captain Bard in the field.

Note: David D. Bard was the Captain of Company I, 10th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee, November 30th, 1864. Rodolphus Bard was in the same regiment, but was discharged prior to the completion of his enlistment.

Images and letters are in good condition, sword has some wear on the grip, and the scabbard is dry.
