Portrait of Federal Brick House. Unsigned. Oil on stretched mattress ticking, the house with paneled front door surmounted by a demilune fanlight, four chimneys and twelve-over-twelve windows revealing three faces gazing out from within, with white clapboard barn, and street scene of a horse-drawn buggy at lower left, seven other figures, including a man on horseback, as well as two dogs, hilly landscape beyond, 11 1/4 x 15 1/4 in., unframed, with protective edging. Condition: Relined, retouch.

lines and spots of inpainting throughout sky and into green hills, spots in the foreground. Minor inpainting to buildings, including 1/2 in. spot to left of figures leaning against barn. There is no significant inpainting to the brick house.
