Two Sterling Silver Trophies from Chicago Yacht Clubs, a Towle dish with beaded rim and acid-etched inscription, "Mackinac/ Cruising Race/ July 29, 1905/ First Prize/ Schooner Class/ Won by/ Mistral," dia. 9 7/8, and a Lebolt Arts and Crafts cup with hammered surface, with two handles, flaring foot, and with engraved inscription, "LPYC/ Diamond/ Aug. 8, Sept. 9, and Sept. 23/ 1916" to obverse, and "Presented by/ Otto C. Schoenwerk Jr." to the other, ht. 4 in., approx. 19.6 total troy oz.

N.B. The Mackinac Cruising Race was an annual race of the Chicago Yacht Club from Chicago to Mackinac Island. Dwight Lawrence owned the 48-foot schooner Mistral. Lawrence was a member of the Chicago Yacht Club and his descendants are partial donors of the Master Mariners Trophy, awarded to Chicago Yacht Club members who have sailed in fifty races to Mackimac Island. The Lincoln Park Yacht Club merged with the Chicago Yacht Club in 1920. A centerboard sloop named Diamond was owned by Samuel T.A. Loftis, a Chicago diamond merchant. Loftis attained some notoriety after his brother shot him over a business disagreement. Loftis died under questionable circumstances while entertaining a young lady after his scandalous divorce
