Whiting Sterling Silver Manhattan Athletic Club Trophy Bowl, New York, c. 1890, circular, the rim alternating between convex lobes and chased floral bouquets, with engraved inscription, "Manhattan Athletic Club/ First Yacht Race/ Sept. 13th, 1890/ 53 Foot Class/ Won by/ Clara," dia. 9 in., approx. 10.7 troy oz.

N.B. The Clara was a 53-foot cutter designed by William Fife Jr., captained by Charlie Barr, and owned by Dr. John C. Barron. The race was sailed over the Larchmont Yacht Club course.
