Whiting Sterling Silver Larchmont Yacht Club Trophy, New York, c. 1892, with two auricular, scrolled handles and a waisted body decorated with an acid-etched presentation inscription encircling a depiction of the cutter "Larchmont Yacht Club/Match Race/ Oct. 6th 1892./Atlantic", ht. 9 in., approx. 43.6 troy oz.

N.B. The centerboard cutter Atlantic was designed by Philip Ellsworth and built by John Mumm of New York in 1886 as an unsuccessful defender for the America's Cup races. She was converted to a schooner in 1889.

Scattered dents to body including around a lower handle joint where it looks like the handle was dented into the body and then pushed back out.
