Whiting Sterling Silver Larchmont Yacht Club Trophy Pitcher, New York, c. 1892, cylindrical with a slightly flared base, the handle entwined by a leafy vine and the spout cast as an eagle's head, engraved: "Larchmont Yacht Club/Fall Regatta/Sept. 10th 1892./Class B/won by/Shamrock" ht. 10 1/8 in., approx. 29.4 troy oz.

N.B. The schooner Shamrock was originally owned by John Rogers Maxwell. Maxwell was a member of the New York Yacht Club who also owned the schooner Emerald.

Beak of eagle with abrasions to one side. Otherwise with only minor usage wear.
