Pair of Cloisonne Horses, China, Qing dynasty, each standing with its hind legs lowered and one foreleg raised, caparisoned with saddle, a bell on the neck, and tail decoration, its mane, raised foreleg, head, and ears designed to create symmetry, the body decorated with archaic-style scrolls with chilong and taotie masks, the saddle and movable saddle flaps with lotus scrolls, all in polychrome enamels of white, yellow, pink, red, light blue, blue, light green, and green on a brown ground, gilt hooves, manes, ears, tails, and saddle borders, ht. to 16 3/8, wd. to 19 1/8 in.
