Oil on academy board, 15 1/4 x 21 3/8 in. (39.0 x 54.3 cm),framed.
Condition: Retouch, craquelure, surface grime.

Two unattributed labels on the reverse inscribed "Eastman Johnson" and with the titles "Old Man Reading" or "Portrait of a Man." Numbered "P 349/J" both on a gummed label and directly on the reverse. Numbered "469/11" on the reverse.
With a label from D.J. Healy Shops on the back of the frame. Although the label does not provide a location, D.J. Healy was a retailer in Detroit, Michgan.
