Soleil Couchant, 1879, final state of four (Delteil, 22). Signed "C. Pissarro" in pencil l.r., inscribed "no 1 ep d'art. Soleil couchant" in pencil l.l. Etching, aquatint, and drypoint on paper, plate size 4 5/8 x 6 3/8 in. (11.5 x 15.9 cm),framed.
Condition: Unobtrusive mat burn and toning, not examined out of frame.

Provenance: A private New York and Massachusetts collection.

Sheet measures 7 5/8 x 10 3/8 in. Deckled along two sides. Taped to window mat with masking tape. Minor discoloration of sheet on verso. Small loss at l.l. corner of sheet.
