Paint-decorated and Parcel-gilt Pine Box, possibly northern New England, early 19th century, the box painted red overall with two-part border of black and contrasting banding, the top with a spreadwing eagle with gilt wingtips holding a banner reading "HANNAH MILLER" in its bill, the front with cornucopias issuing flowers and leafage flanked by pheasants, the sides further decorated with birds and leafage, on gold-painted ball feet, the interior lined with orange paper, (minor imperfections),ht. 5, wd. 9, dp. 4 1/2 in.

repaint to bottom front of lid, and to upper right quadrant of top, missing lock.
