Blown and Polychrome Decorated Glass "Remember Me" Rolling Pin, from the Brigantine Kitty, England, mid-19th century, swelled form decorated with the central vessel "KITTY," flanked by cartouches with the name "James Strowger" and "Mother Remember Me," (very minor paint loss),lg. 13 1/4 in.
Note: The brigantine Kitty, of Whitehaven, was first owned by master and owner Capt. B. Fisher, and was later (in the 1840s) commanded by Capt. Matthias Pearce. She was posted missing and assumed lost in December 1883, having left Falmouth on December 8th with 224 tons of cargo.
