Wrought Iron Lighting Devices, America, late 18th/early 19th century, a Lancaster, Kentucky, 18th century iron hanging crusie lamp, lg. 5 1/4, wd. 4, ht. 6 1/4, two miner's candlesticks, lg. to 12 1/2, wd. to 3 1/2, ht. to 3 1/2, a miniature crusie lamp, lg. 2 1/4, wd. 1 1/2, and a cresset in wood block with basket comprised of a twisted ring atop three twisted arms which join into a twisted spike, driven into a rough-cut rectangular piece of scrap hardwood, a piece of pitch pine in the basket, (imperfections),ht. 18, dp. 16 in.
Note: An accompanying handwritten card reads: "#707May 1989/Miriam & Carl Ritchie/Second owners of hanging grease light/Originaly [sic] owned by/four generations/Back from/Dr. Robert L. Elkins/of Garrard Co. Kentucky/Town of Lancaster/Approx. late 1700's [sic]."
