First edition, illustrated with an extra engraved title and the 126 consecutively numbered plates, which vary in size, and include folding and full-paged maps, views, plans, local costumes, and other plates; with fourteen large and ornate head- and tail-pieces, bound in full contemporary tree calf, inner gilt dentelles, a.e.g., gilt spine, red label, marbled end leaves, 19 3/4 x 12 1/2 in.
This work was the first part of a planned three volume set, however, the other volumes were published much later, in 1809 and 1822.
