affixed to the reverse, attributed on a presentation plaque.

Condition: Lined, retouch, probable skinning, fine craquelure, surface grime.
N.B. John Bunyan (British, 1628-1688) was a preacher and author of The Pilgrim's Progress. The note affixed to the reverse describes the sitter as dressed as a soldier of the Parliament Army and goes on to briefly describe his career.
