Description:

Two 19th Century American School Daguerreotypes:

Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Sister and Brother and Hand-tinted Sixth-plate Daguerreotype of a Girl Holding a Bouquet, both in embossed leather cases.
Condition: The first is tarnished at edges, split case, worn and abraded, especially along spine and clasps, with leather lifting at spine, small loss at l.c. of bottom of case, velvet pad faded and discolored in areas, velvet liner lightly worn; the second has tarnish and minor accretions on glass, case worn and abraded, split case, silk pad faded and stained; not examined out of cases.

Provenance: A private New England collection.
